I did not realize you were so close to Dr. Brooks near Countryside Mall. YES - I am recommending him, by all means. Knowing what I know now - I think he is worth the drive - from anywhere!

Thanks for the recommendation. I have to go for my 3 month PSA check on June 1st, so I think I'll make an appointment with him to do it.

Doug,
I live about 10 min drive to Morton Plant in Clearwater and work about 10 min drive ftom Countryside, so Dr Brooks would absolutely be convenient. It also sounds like you're recommending him to me if i need the radiation treatment. Am I understanding your posts correctly? Again, thanks so much for your feedback; can't tell you how much I appreciate it. -

Thanks for the quick response. When I went for a second opinion, I went to a Dr. Ross, who is in the same group (Urology Specialists) as Dr. Brooks out of their Morton Plant office in Clearwater. I'm asking 'cause i might need the radiation treatments you had, and I'm looking for the best guy to do it locally here in Pinellas. Thanks so much for your help, Doug, and, again, glad to hear you're doing well. Richard

A Dr. LaRosa - I saw at the Morton Plant office. he tried to talk me into a "yet to be approved in the USA" procedure. My second visit, I waited in the waiting room for 45 minutes - then discovered I was not on their appointment list - yet I had the appointment card. I met with another great urologist out of the Wellspring office on 66th street. It may be closer to you - Dr. Francese (sp). I had an appoiintment with him at St. Anthony's Hospital and he spent 2 hours with me - never left the room OR looked at his watch. I had done my homework and knew the answers to the questions I asked him. When I left - he told me to call his office by noon that Friday - to let him know what decision I had made. He called me at 12:30 - as I had not called him. I thought I could drive to his office for treatment - but he decided that it was too far for 44 trips. Another option for you. Dr. Brooks is worth the drive. During my treatments I know of two men who drove up from near Central Avenue in St. Petersburg for Dr. Brooks. I know this is muddying the water for you - my apologies.

Hey Douglass,
Thanks for checking in. So glad to hear you're doing well. I know you're seeing Dr. Camuzzi, but is he the one that did your radiation treatments, or was that Dr. Brooks of Urologists Specialists? I know you mentioned seeing Dr. Brooks, but I was wondering who you finally decided to get the radiation treament from? I sounds like it worked really well for you which is great to hear. thanks again, Richard
