I thought that going through all the treatment, lumpectomy, chemo and radiation while still "living" my life was my new normal but I found after it's all said and done I've had to change the my new "normal" again, AFTER the treatment ie going back to work, living my life, accepting that I still have cancer but not being fearful but do be accepting that I can only control so much in my life and learning to live with that. So that is what I do, it requires learning new survival/coping skills, not putting cancer on the back burner but it is also not the end all of my life. I appreciate life much more, I am kinder and more accepting I don't take things for granted as I once did.

That is a common feeling after you "level out" after cancer. I found that I liked all the little things and they aren't so little, much more important, and the things that I thought were a big deal, weren't so much now. Welcome to the New Club, strange isn't it?

Cancer has a way of putting things in perspective and changing our priorities!

Celebration (Finished treatment): After lumpectomy, 14 rounds of chemo and 6 1/2 weeks of radiation I am finally done. So happy to get back to my new "normal"

Side Effects: I experienced extreme burns from the radiation but do not be discouraged, they will heal. Mine are almost healed and i am much more comfortable

Even the burns from radiation couldn't ruin this moment!

Good friends are a treasure during treatment. We see too many times that some friends "poof" and are gone. Glad you have some good ones!
