As the song states "the waiting is the hardest part". Most of us here have experienced the anxiety of waiting for the next test and the results, waiting for treatment to begin or wating for healing so that the next treatment phase can begin. We know that it can be exhausting. The best thing to do is take things one day at a time and try and keep busy with things that you enjoy together and take your mind off of cancer. My wife and I enjoy going to the movies or a concert or just taking our dogs for a walk. Often simple things that relieve the stress, get you out and about and take your mind off of the cancer are the best things you can do. Hope this helps. Let us know if there is anything elsae we can help with and Good Luck.

I think the last answer was very good. My husband was diagnosed with esophageal cancer very near the vocal chords. He opted for radiation and concurrent chemo. The treatments were very difficult and the prognosis grim. I said to him: This may be the best you ever feel. How do we make the best of this day? That is how we have lived our life, one day at a time, living in the moment as best we can, for over two years. That is about a year and one half more than the doctors expected. There have been some pretty big bumps in the road that we have had go navigate around but we travel and take rides and generally he will say at some time during the day: "Thank God for this beautiful day" even on the rainiest. I hope this is helpful to you.
