I have been declared cancer free since surgery 1 1/2 years ago but still have side effects that come and go from the treatment. I hope to check this site more frequently if people have questions but generally have been computer shy these past years.

Thanks for stopping by, we love survivors here at WhatNext. Your experience as a survivor is valuable information to others who are just starting their journey with cancer. You can help by simply answering a few questions that you may have some feedback for.

Procedure or Surgery (Surgery): The surgery it self wasn't too bad and I got great care while I was in the hospital for 10 days (Kaiser). Home care was rough the first few days until support staff arrived. I also expected more support with getting a bed and proper set up (such as having my legs raised. ) Still not satisfied.

Side Effects (Cough): Chronic cough, spitting up food when cough continues too long, diarrhea problems continue. This has been is going on 5 months post surgery so far. This causes interrupted sleep most nights, difficulty talking sometimes and lots of frustration.
