This is this past August when my brother and my sister were here visiting. That is my is my wife across from me and my brother's wife next to her, and then my sister. My sister's husband passed away on Christmas Eve 2016. She still lives in the Chicago area, but she was on the East Coast visiting her mother-in-law for her 110th birthday. I'll post a picture of her when my sister was there visiting. My brother, my sister, and I are trying to get together as often as possible since we are up in our age...I'm 74, my sister is 75, and my brother is 76. My wife and I have been married 51 years, my sister, (before her husband passed), was married 52 years, and my brother has been married 53 years. Family means a lot to all of us.

Yesterday, (11/03/2018), was my 18th year of survival from stage IV, pancreatic cancer. There is not a day that goes by which I don't forget how lucky I am to be alive. I wrote a book about 7-8 years ago, but never had it published. The title I gave the book was "Why Me... Why Did I Survive While So Many Others Didn't?" As a cancer survivor, my life as I knew it was not the same anymore. All cancer survivors have a life that we call…“our new normal.” So many things have changed, but the memory of what I went through will be with me for the rest of my life. Even though I may be in remission the fear of cancer returning is ever present. There is not a day that goes by that I do not think about what this disease has done to me. I will never forget the day that I heard the words, “you have pancreatic cancer.” Still today, even though I am in remission, I allow myself the time to reflect upon and feel the sorrow of that day. However I am at peace with what happened to me in the past, and I am at peace with what will happen to me in the future.” My best to all of you...Russ
