Procedure or Surgery (Removal of rectal tumor): Had surgery on 5-14-2013. Rectal tumor removed, ileostomy put in, and while the doc was in, removed appendix. Dr. said they got all of the tumor, 6/24 lymph nodes cancerous, will definately need chemo later. The chemo is what scares me.

Radiation (External radiation ): The pre-surgery radiation was painless, quick treatment times, and only had a little rash for a while.

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): Got my chemo port in Friday. Still a little sore, but not as bad as I thought it would be. I also start chemo on Monday. I think this part scares me the most right now, maybe just the unknown of the side effects. Just gotta stay strong and take it one day at a time.

Radiation (External radiation ): I begin radiation on Monday. Dr. and therapists are all great which is making it alot easier to deal with. A huge relief that I can still play with and hold my kids. When I heard radiation, I thought I may not be able to be around them. Thank God that is not the case. They and my wife are my strength and inspirstion.
