    Radiation (External radiation ): Was not prepared for the amount of pain in oesophagus after treatment finished. Unable to eat anything for a couple of weeks just tepid liquids.

      They warned me, but I too was not prepared for the esophagus pain from the radiation.... made it through the first 5 weeks of treatment, combination radiation and chemo, with only 1 week to go it seemed to hit me all of a sudden....almost didn't do the last few treatments... I needed oxycodone, oxycontin, lidocaine swish&swallow and a nystatin gargle to get through it.... didn't want to swallow anything

      It took me almost a year before I could handle temps other than tepid- i had nose- mouth , but it still affected swallowing.

    Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): Ended up needing platelet transfusion partway through chemotherapy.

    Oh No (Cancer has spread/Metastasized): Before chemo could start found tumour in breast

    Procedure or Surgery (Surgery): Was told cancer in right lung only and would remove 2 lobes. During surgery found other tumour on artery to heart which was too close to heart to remove. As now stage iv and incurable only did wedge resection.
