Sorry to hear of you diagnosis. The good news is there is excellent medication for this type of Leukemia. I was diagnosed seven years ago and have lived a new normal life since then and I am still going strong. There is no reason to expect anything less than a normal life span , due to how the medication works. I'm on Gleevec, but there are many others. I have suffered very few side effects and am able to deal with the ones I have relatively easily. I wish you good luck and stay in touch. May God bless you as much as he has me!

Hopefully you’ll do well on this drug. I was diagnosed 25 years ago and have been on Dorycrl the past 12 years with minimal side effects. This disease and the treatment has come a lon way in 25 years. Best of luck! Let me know if you have any questions:)

Oh No (Just Diagnosed): I went to have blood work done for a foot surgery and my white blood cell count was 187 I waited 2 hours and had it retaken and it was 208 spent the night in the hospital and they told me it was CML lekeuma. I was scared they waited for the last test to find out if it was the Philadelphia chromeasone and when the test results came it it was confirmed
