My husband was diagnosed with small cell adenocarcinoma in the lung (stage 3a). Has had chemo followed by radiation which is just about over. He has tolerated all treatment with minimal problems. We will not know how successful this treatment has been until a scan will be taken a month after radiation. It is hard to wait and wonder but stay positive.

Decision Point (Finished chemo for non small cell adenocarcinoma of lung and need to decide whether to go for radiation.): We met with the radiation oncologist who read the latest scan showing that the 5 sessions of chemo dramatically reduced the cancer in the right upper lung. Would like to go on with radiation adding a little bit of chemo to make it more effectve. He shared all the bad effects that can happen which puts us off a bit. However they would like to keep the cancer shrunk back from the airways as compromising the airways would not be a pleasant end of life.
Has anyone had experience, good or bad with going on with radiation?over 8 years ago
