Just finished Chemo #4 out of 7 and rad #15of what is now 39. Throat is raw and sore. Still drinking plenty of water and the Jevity is keeping my weight stable. The pain is terrible how does everyone else cope with the throat pain?

How bad is the throat going to get? Everything is making me nauseous. I want this Peg to be out because it is very painful.

Samuel- The good news is it sounds like you have HPV+ ...that dramatically improves the odds of a good outcome. The bad news is it gets worse. I had exactly the same thing, and the impact from treatment is cumulative. With me, it got worse until one week after I finished treatment. Use the magic mouthwash and don't hesitate using pain meds. The eating/tube thing is a pain (literally), but you need to keep up with your nutrition. Good luck. You'll get through this!

      HI SAMUEL,
MY BIG PROBLEM IS THE PAIN IN THE TONGUE AND DRY MOUTH......HAVE YOU BEEN HAVING A PROBLEM WITH EITHER, OR BOTH? ALSO, IF YOU DON'T MIND, COULD YOU TELL ME WHAT YOU DON'T LIKE ABOUT THE PEG, BECAUSE THERE'S A SLIGHT CHANCE I'LL NEED ONE......

Procedure or Surgery (Surgery): Original diagnoses was Bronchial Cleft Cyst. Turned out to be from HPV virus. It started on my tongue down in my throat then to a lymph node.
