    Hello Sandy,
I went through NHL - Double Hit, which is a very aggressive variation of non Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I was diagnosed in February of 2019. I went through and failed two chemos, and I got the new CAR-T Therapy in June, and have been in remission ever since, so if you have a teaching school near, like KU, that can administer CAR-T Therapy, I would highly recommend googleing and looking at doing that. I think CAR-T has been approved now as a second line treatment. In other words, I had to fail a first and second line chemo treatment, before I could get CAR-T as a third line treatment. I never could get to the BMT stage because my cancer didn’t respond to conventional chemo. Most people with NHL respond to conventional chemo, but I was in that very low percentage that didn’t, but I did respond immediately to the CAR-T. You can google CAR-T or check it out on the Kansas University’s (KU) website to read more about it. CAR-T can give you a shot at a cure, and not just managing it with chemo and bone marrow transplants, but it comes with risks, but they were worth it for me. Hang in there and I hope you have a speedy recovery. Steve H.
