I am new to this site and just read your story. I was diagnosed in Feb. ‘18 with IIIC and am 30 days out from my 1st 3 month CT Scan. I can tell from your story this hasn’t been easy, but you are a fighter. Continue fighting!

Oh No (Cancer has spread/Metastasized): This has been 90 days of XXX, to say the least. Got severely constipated over July 4th weekend. As we all know OC & constipation go hand in hand. Threw everything I had it, with no results, all the straining caused my siactica nerve to inflame on right side. Tired to resolve the issue locally, but GP was uncooperative/clueless. Days to get appt. 2 weeks of meds here, come back, MRI @ pain mgt.clinic, as I was told nothing big or scary, but those who don't know OC miss the little scary bits! Meantime I am in excruciating pain, feel like worm on a hook, lost control of bladder. Fell out of camper door in Sept. MDA want new MRI w/contrast, GP felt it unnecessary. I am so done with this Dr! Fell again, husband called 911. ER staff could not access port properly. Sticks in hand were excruciating, still bruised! This MRI showed crack @ L2 & T11. Was assured by pain mgt. Dr the could quickly cement those cracks, decided to go back to MDA! New MRI showed OC has once again spread. Thus time to my spinal cord, not good news. Very disconcerting to have Dr. say, "I've been dining this for 35 years & never seen OC go to spine.....admitted to MDA. Inserted internal catheter for bladder inconstancy. Daily Radiation to spine. Meds are controlling pain level. Blood clots behind knees, never knew how painful clots could be! Foot/ankle swollen & tender. After week stay, with incredible MDA care, I was dismissed to so / daughter in law home an hour drive from MDA. So thankful they were welling to turn their office into a convalescence room for me! Will continue daily radiation treatments thru Oct. 17. Results will be reevaluated, to determine if I will need clean up chemo, thus involve a port in my head to deliver chemo to spinal area. All we can do is to continue to have hope & hr thankful knowing MDA is giving me the best possible care. Sending love & strength to all!

Celebration (Remission): Great news from my Dr. team @ MDA Houston this week! MRI of brain is clear! This was round #5 for me & it has taken a little more to bounce back from the brain surgery & follow up radiation, but it worked! Declared NED! Next appt. is in 3 months. Taking my 90 days & headed out for cooler temps! Sending strength & love to all!

Last week @ MDA Houston did not go as planned. Arrived @ 6am for halo fitting, only to be told it had been cancelled, bit of communication break down. Did get some confusing emails about appointments, but the 6am appt, had not been cancelled. I don't check my phone before going to bed. The team decided after reviewing last MRI that I needed the 3 day radiation treatment, which in hindsight, I am glad, the whole idea of having 4 screws drilled into my skull & having to lay still for hours was freaking me out a bit. So had the mask fitting, this I know how to do! 1st of 3 treatments will start on Tuesday. So ready to have round #5 behind me! Places to go, things to do!
