For those of you who don't have this....MGUS...Monoclonal Gammopathy of Undertermined Significance...3 percent of people over 60 have this and it is never discovered. Mine was discovered by Neurologist who was helping me with my Neuropathy caused by Chemo. Only one percent of those who have it ever turns into a treatable full blown problem. Those numbers are pretty low and I keep thinking that is a positive in my favor. The treatment is not started until the numbers are over 3 grams....mine presently is on 435milligram....so I feel there is a long way to go yet.

I really would get a second opinion. I would go to an oncologist hematologist. I have aplastic anemia a sister disease of MDS. I was diagnosed in 2003. Then diagnosed with lymphoma in 2012 and breast cancer in 2014. Go to the aplastic anemia, MDS, phn web site. MDS generally impacts the red blood cells first. Do you have other symptoms?

Procedure or Surgery (Lumpectomy): Recently diagnosed Stage 2, Grade 3 Residual Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (4mm) poorly differentiated. I've only had 1 round of chemo and had almost every side effect they warn you about. Did not handle the diagnosis well at all as I am still grieving for my youngest son age 26 who died only a yr. ago. This is all new to me because no one else in my family has had breast cancer. Both my parents lived well into their 80's. I just don't understand why this has happened and what am I supposed to do? I have 3 other grown children, 1 which lives with me due to a slight learning disability. She really needs me. I feel so alone.
