So happy that Zelboraf is working for you. It is a shame that it cannot work for all with melanoma, I guess that goes for all cancer treatments. Will look into Hollings cancer center, no one here has ever mentioned that place to us and we were going to Charleston to the Dr. there. Thanks for the info.

Best wishes to you and your son. So sorry to hear at this age what he was diagnosed with. I am sure the Doctors will be able to help him.

Zelboraf was used first because my husband was positive for the Braf gene. Did not work, as a matter of fact the tumors started to grow again. Now they want to do Yervoy but the side effects are very risky and the worries us. Hope they are not using any of us for guinea pigs. Has anyone out they heard of any success for melanoma with the Cancer Treatment Centers of America ??? Hope someone out there has good luck with their cancer, would be nice to hear of a positive out come to this awful disease

At the risk of sounding like I am dissing Cancer Treatment Centers of America, there is what is reported to be an excellent melanoma program at Hollings Cancer Center, Medical University of SC, Charleston. You might consider consulting with such an organization, it looks like it's a bit over a two hour drive for you.

My husband has stage 4 melanoma in lungs, liver, chest. Was on pill Vemurafenib, did not help. Has anyone had any success with the CTCA with a problem like this. Yervoy is the next course of treatment and from the 20 25% success rate and the dangers of this treatment we were hoping for something else that would help.
