I received an email that you were following me. I haven't posted in a very long time because the only other APL patients seemed to be in remission and didn't want to post. You are the first with my diagnosis in over 2 years. If you need any information from me, please post. I received my diagnosis 12-12-2013, spent 23 days inpatient at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, and was in remission 1-8-2014. I was treated according to a protocol for a study which included ATRA and arsenic trioxide. MDA has a very specific and highly effective protocol. I am lucky to live close to Houston since my hospital admission was an emergency. I put off the bone marrow biopsy because I was afraid of the procedure and especially of the results. I finished treatment in August 2014, have had frequent checkups, but am now down to one every 6 months. I am concerned that you were diagnosed over a year ago but are still in active treatment. If you need information or encouragement, please post again.
