Yes, me too. The condition is called Osteoradionecrosis. The problem is from the radiation that was done weakens the bone, tissues, around the area. The area doesn't want to heal after a tooth is pulled. If you have one pulled and it doesn't heal back over, the hole will possibly start to decay away, if it gets bad enough, your jawbone can have to be replaced by a piece of leg bone. I've been given the story many times by my dr's and Oral surgeon. All of my teeth except maybe 2 or 3, need to be pulled.
They first said they would not pull them, sent me to a Prosthodontist, he wanted to do some radical procedures to cap the teeth off, sealing them at the gum line, and drill into my teeth with posts and mount a plate/denture.
Also they will want you to get HBO treatments, (not movies, Oxygen) this is a procedure that puts you in a chamber and they pressurize it, infusing oxygen into your body. This is supposed to help the tissue recover. My insurance wouldn't cover it 48K so I said I can't do it, let's pull them. We pulled two as an experiment to be sure they would heal, one healed quickly, the other took a month and a half, but did heal. I am now scheduled for FEB 14 to have more pulled.
It's a tough situation. On another page here on Whatnext I have some more information @GGP take a look there for more info.
Hope it works out OK for you.
