Sheagirl, go to the online site Sisterhood for Ovarian Cancer Survivors and ask to join. They have many ladies there who have been on Topotecan and can answer your questions. It's a great group of survivors and family members.

Hi. I was on Topotecan and Avastin for 6 rounds, as a 3rd line. (Carbo/Taxol first, surgery, residual disease so Carbo/Gemcitibine, remaining liver leisons, so Topotecan/Avastin, then liver resection). I tolerated the Topotecan very well, with no major issues or hair loss. (My hair fell out with the Taxol, but grew back after that). However, it did not remove the disease in the liver and I had surgery for that. I hope that at least it kept any other potential areas of growth at bay. Good luck, but you should tolerate it well. My CA125 was nearly 600 at time of diagnosis (March 2015) but declined to 30 after debunking in July 2015, and has remained at 4-7 since October 2015.

My CA125 was a little over 600 when they changed my chemo meds to topotecan. I'm hoping this new medicine will help lower my numbers and shrink the cancer so the Dr can finally do surgery.
