Celebration (Remission): Only side affects from current medication is joint pain and fatigue. No hot flashes, etc. from hormone therapy. I will gladly tolerate those as my cancer is gone.

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Hormone therapy): Two months after initial treatment, two very small and slightly different tumors appeared on the opposite side.E/P positive, HER 2 negative. Started Arimidex and Ibrance. After 4 months tumors were gone. Cancer is currently in remission. Oncologist, surgeon, and tumor board are not sure it is MBC or if second tumors were stage IIB.

Radiation (External radiation ): Because I was numb, I didn't experience pain from the skin burns under my arm. (The most painful part was the tattoo markers) I had fatigue which affected my daily routine. I had 6 weeks of radiation.

Procedure or Surgery (Mastectomy): I did have a port implanted before chemo. 5 weeks after chemo ended I had a mastectomy, no lymph nodes removed even though I do have lymphedema. All margins came back clear. Now a year later, I am still numb; however, some of the feeling is coming back. I didn't have reconstructive surgery.

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): 3 cycles of Adriamycin and Cytoxan combined and 4 cycles of Taxol. I was supposed to have 4 cycles of AC but it was too hard on my body. I ended up in the hospital each time with neutropenic so my oncologist skipped the last cycle. My tumors responded extremely well to the chemo. Other than the neutropenia, side affects were mouth sores, lack of appetite/weight loss, hair loss, and extreme fatigue.
