Side Effects (Taste change/loss): I had a lot of different side effects, each day seemed to be different with my 1st chemo. Nausea, diarrhea, some thinking chemo brain, my eyes were blurry, then my ears felt clogged up, fatigue, taste changes, sort of metallic. Salt seems to be my best taste which I am not to eat so not my feet are swelling. Thank GOD each effect only lasted a day or two except for the taste and the different symptoms were for only a week.

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): Different chemo cocktails affect patients differently. I believe I am a lucky one because my chemo is preventative for recurrence. My surgeon felt very confident he got all of the cancer buy with being HER 2 + my oncologist was willing to sit back and wait to see if a stray cell was missed. I am receiving Herceptin, Carboplatin, and Taxotere. I got my 3rd of 6 chemo yesterday Friday the 13th. I feel good day of, Saturday and Sunday. Then the tiredness hits and nausea and diarrhea until about Thursday/Friday and I start feeling better. The good news one sick week out of 3 I think is doable to prevent a recurrence.

Procedure or Surgery (Lumpectomy): I have only had one chemo treatment and side effects lasted about a week of nausea and extreme tireness
