Oh No (Diagnosed): after almost 3 years with a sore throat that would not go away and 5 different doctors telling me the same thing. I took matters into my own hands and called an ENT that the other doctors told me I didn't need or better yet that I couldn't afford to go to this type of doctor. well I was swallowing or trying to swallow some water and it came out my nose! thats when I had HAD ENOUGH of not getting the help I deserved and prayed for so I called an ENT , said I was my family's doctors office and made an appointment for one of my patients, ME !!! with in a month my doctor had me diagnosed with stage 4 larynx cancer and that I had no time to spare and he had me set up to have my voice box removed in 2 weeks!! I wanted a 2nd opinion and went to the top head and neck cancer hospitals in my area. U of M. I started radiation therapy and chemo December 2009 and finished the 2nd of February 2010. I was fighting to keep my voice box because it came in very handy since I was a waitress and also did landscaping on the side because my husbands job had been out sourced and we had 2 children to feed and clothe also.
