Procedure or Surgery: A biopsy of a mole at the base of my left ear showed that it was malignant melanoma. The surgeon performed a radical nodectomy, removing the lymph noses, some muscle and nerves on the left side of my neck. Subsequent followup exams, chest X-rays, etc. have shown no further problems and no recurrence of the melanoma.
Based of ongoing minor skin cancer issues (basal and squamous), I see my dermatologist several times a year for full body scans, biopsies, etc. and have gotten annual chest X-rays.
