My Dr. has me on this treatment as well. The thought is that the dose will not harm or cause an additional side effects, and cutting down the time I spend at the cancer center will be helpful. Truly I would much rather go once every 3 weeks than weekly. It is better for my mental state.

Yep. Once every 3 weeks is normal. Yes, its a little scary not to go to the doctor so often but you get used to it quickly. Radiation isn't a walk in the park, but it's easier than chemo. Drink lots of water and keep your muscles moving so they don't get "sticky".

There have been days when I have just wanted to stop chemo, and I have only had 3 cocktails of it. But when I am there getting my treatments, I look around and realize that it could be so much worse, and that I am truly blessed with my situation. My cancer has done some wonderful things in my life as crazy as that may sound. But in everything bad comes something good if you look for it. I thank God every day for what it has changed in my life for the good. I know from going threw worse with my mother who past in 97, that I am blessed. She always stayed positive and upbeat an she is my inspiration. Never give up, and stay positive.

Decision Point (Whether to have chemo or not.): After my lumpectomy, when all came back clear, no cancerous cells found in the tissue surrounding the lump, or in any 5 of the lymph nodes, I felt cured, I didn't want to put my body and other organs threw the effects of chemo. Then the doctor explained the problem is the HER2. That it took approx. 8 yrs for that little lump I had to form and in the mean time, any cells could have traveled anywhere, so the chemo was a precaution that cut my risk in half of a reoccurence in the next 1-5yrs. And the tears in my daughters eyes, when she said she was afraid if I didn't do it, that it would come back somewhere worse, or incurable. That broke my heart and gave me the strength I needed to proceed.

Side Effects (Flu-like symptoms (fever, chills, sweats)): The flu like symptoms bother me more than anything because I don't feel like doing anything, the hair loss got to the point I was tired of the shedding and hair being everywhere, so I shaved it. I also feel shakey alot inside, and the coldness bothers me now more than usual. Which is normal I know.

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): After my first treatment, the stomach issues were enough to make me quit, but my dr, gave me another nausea med and its helped alot! I am getting TCH every 3 wks, and Herceptin every week. The cocktail only need 6, the Herceptin for a yr.
