Oh No (Diagnosed): I discovered a good size lump on my right breast. It was ( I thought) the underwire of my bra cutting through my bra. No big deal. I went on vacation. Came back, lump still there. The day after mothers day 2004 I called my Doctor. I actually never even saw him.( And the funny thing was I had gone for an exam weeks before. HE NEVER said anything about a lump!) I though it couldn't be cancer, the lump was large and the Dr. would have found it. The nurse sent me to Windsong right away & told be to prepare myself for the worst. What' the "worst" ?So, I'm thinking death. The tests began mamogram, sonogram.. Thanks to the health examiner who was doing the testing was knew what she was doing. It was now 4:50 PM. This started at 11:AM. The girls stood up threw the paper towels towards me, wipe the gel off, I'm going to get the doctor". The doctor was actually getting ready to leave. The doctor came in said " there's a lump that wasn't there before , I'd like to do a biopsy right away." I'm like "right away, now, or come back when I feel like it?" She's like "Right Away!" whoa..I just zoned out. She was sure it was cancer , but I had to get the results to be sure. Got into my car cried, my eyes out . Wait this can't be happening to me. I'm a single parent, with a daughter graduating from High Schoo,l getting ready to go away to college. NO WAY! Called my mother" I'm at Windsong. I have cancer.. I can't drive home."...
