Look at nail products by Mineral Fusion, Pacfica, and Zoya (all available at Whole Foods). And look at EWG’S DIRTY DOZEN ENDOCRINE DISRUPTORS (Google it and it will come up). EWG has amazing info and lists, constantly updated. I particularly like their Skin Deep database.

      I am with Dina.

What sort of world is this where companies blatently poison consumers without punishment and consumers buy the product knowing or at least suspecting they are hurting themselves.

      Opt out of hurting yourself.

Sunshine52- can you tolerate nuts? I great help for me and a lot of who I know, is Organic Almond Oil. I don' mean to tout Whole Foods again, but I get Aura Cacia Organic Sweet Almond oil and use religiously, nails, cuticles, hands. I had the worst nails PRIOR to dx, and they look better now than they did when I was in my twenties. I do my own nails due to risks of infection and toxin exposure at nail salons (all of which you will see in my above post). I hate doing it, it takes too much time, bu that's what it is.

It's my understanding when taking taxotere the majority of people lose their hair. Knowing this, I found a non-profit organization in my area that makes wigs for cancer patients and does not charge them. (Locks of Love charges the recepient!!!). I had 22 inches of hair to donate. I noticed it coming out within 14 days of my 1st Treatment. My eyebrows and lashes did not fall out until after my 5th treatment. I myself did not like how I looked in a wig, so I wore hats to work. My co-workers were very kind and compassionate about it...made me feel better about how I looked. It's been 10 months since my last treatment of taxotere and my hair is growing back very thick. I took biotin and natural treatments as well as eating foods that promote healthy hair, skin and nails, (my nails fell off when my lashes did) as soon as it fell out and continue to do so. Good luck to you.

I lost all hair on Taxol but another lady who underwent the same treatment didn't!. my ONC said it has to do with metabolism. I can tell you it does grow back out and my hair is just as thick as it used to be.. I'm 64 and i barely have gray hair (not sure it was the Taxol but that's what i tell people!!)

Just do what you have to do and get through it. It will grow back and short hair is so freeing!
