In the hopes of improving my energy level I've joined a gym (being in treatment for more than a few months seems to take every ounce of energy, to to mention muscle tone, you have). I started out slow and easy and boy am I sore but it's a GOOD thing:-) Friend of mine says you can join the YMCA (twice a week for three months) as a cancer survivor so that might be a good option for some folks. I had already signed up at mine.

Celebration (Finished treatment): results of the ct scan are back. Only thing the oncologist saw was a slightly enlarged (one) lymph node in y chest. He says he's not overly concerned with it but since the cancer invaded two pelvic lymph nodes it bears watching and I'll have another ct scan end of December to see if it does anything. So far, so good:-) Off to the beach next week for a weekend with my friends in celebration

Well wish me luck. After three chemo's, 28 radiations, three more chemo's and a CT scan Monday, I'm off to the oncologist for the results tomorrow. hopefully the microscopic cancer cells have taken the hint and left. All in all I've done well with only minimal side effects and remained extraordinarily healthy. Whatever happens it's been an interesting journey and thanks for letting me hang out with you:-)

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): Last chemo yesterday 09/19. Took 5 hours 30 minutes as usual taxol takes forever. When I spoke with my oncologist the day before, I asked about getting the port removed and we negotiated that I'd have the CT scan next month to make sure all the cancer cells are banished. Thanks heavens for my chemo nurses. I was making my appointments as I was being hooked up and Beth said, "no no, you want to do the CT scan just before you come back in for the monthly follow-up to give this chemo it's chance to do it's thing so you get an accurate scan " I said "well, when the called they made it seem Dr K wanted it done ASAP. I said" THANK you how am I supposed to know that" and she said "yes, they should have asked you questions and then TOLD you". Today is the neulasta shot, I'll have a lousy next week and then I'll start to feel good again. My friends are taking me on a celebratory beach weekend next month. I am REALLY looking forward to that
