Has anyone been diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of unknown primary?

I had a MOHs surgery on rare type of squamous cell carcinoma on my face about eight years ago. Last July I was diagnosed with poorly differentiated carcinoma when having a routine surgery they found my whole midsection was covered in cancer but could not tell the histology. They have kind of lumped me in with ovarian cancer for treatment as the size if tumor, the aggressive cells, and how they look under the microscope ... Treatments for both seem to be the same recommendations so far.

Hi Teri, that depends on your Doctor's thinking. Some will do it once a year for a couple years and then stop them. Some say the risk of the radiation from the scans isn't worth it if your not having any symptoms.
I had PET scans every 6 mos. for two years after treatment was over, then they stopped them. Different cancer types are treated differently too.
