Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): Second chemo round. Weekly but only Paxataxol. Fatigue, Neuropathy..not as bad as first round. 7 out of 12 complete. Have had 2 episodes of passing out. Minor cardiac issues. My mantra..."Only 5 more to go, I can do anything for only 5 more weeks, right?"

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): First round ACT. No fun. Sick for a week following. Ugh. Treatment once every 3 weeks for 4 months.

Procedure or Surgery (Mastectomy): Wanted to have double, but being as the first test came back HER2 POS, my surgeon wanted to do just the affected breast so there would be less down/healing time before we started chemo since it had spread and was aggressive. Did the single. Didn't seem to be as easy as I'd read. Starting to think I'm just a wimp.

Procedure or Surgery (Sentinel lymph node biopsy): My surgeon was so certain the cancer would not have spread as the original tumor was only 6mm and it didn't seem that bad. Sentinel node came back POS and they removed 23 nodes and 6 more had tumors.

Procedure or Surgery (Lumpectomy): Insurance, hospital and pain issues. Not the walk in the park I thought it would be.

Oh No (Diagnosed with BC 3 weeks after Mother in Law died of recurrent BC): My mother in law was a 8 year BC survivor. Last year it came back metastacized to her femur. Then spread to her hips, lungs and brain. She died a terrible death Oct of 2012. My husband urged me to please go get a mammogram to "make him feel better". No sign, no symptom, no lumps. Started off Stage 2 surgeon certain it had not spread, it was too small.
