Tiff I lost my mother to breast cancer in 1981. Before my dx I would think of her often sometimes with sadness longing for her to be with me and sometimes with a smile for things I was doing with my kids that she did with me. Now that I have the same thing she did I appreciate more the things that she did while sick. I think all of the above is normal. I will say that the sharp edge didn't begin to dull for about 3-4 years. Learning to live through the loss, sadness, and grief very individual and I wish the best for you as you walk that path.

It's been 3 years since she passed. I'm still sad about it.

That's a normal thing, I believe if you didn't feel sad you wouldn't be the good person you are. I lost both Mom and Dad within 10 months of each other, both from cancer. I still think about them everyday and I have a good feeling when I do. It does get easier with time, but you will be sad for a while.
