I was on dose dense adriamycin/cytoxin for 4 sessions two weeks apart and then taxotere for 4 sessions two weeks apart. Before the a/c I had a muga scan to make sure my heart was in good condition.
As far as I know, I have no long term side effects; it has been four years since I finished chemo. My white blood count fell with each session and after each A/C I had a Neulasta shot and then after the taxotere I had Neupogen. My red blood count fell precipitously at one point and I was given a drug that slowly helped to rebuild my rbc.
The risks are worth the payoff - no evidence of disease!
