Procedure or Surgery (Surgery to remove lung cancer that has spread): 3 times I was scheduled for surgery and had it postponed for various reasons. This was unnerving, to say the least. I tried to explain to the doctor that I was like an athlete getting ready for a game - getting psyched. When they postponed the surgery, it was like a rainout.

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy and radiation combined): I had to take off work every Friday for my Radiation and Chemo. Also, I had little education regarding having a Port put in to use for the Chemo, so my arms looked like those of a junkie, and eventually, many of my veins became useless.

Oh No (Diagnosed): Like my doctor, I thought it was just bronchitis, but then when I explained that I had some pain, he sent me for an X-ray; then they ordered a CT scan and referred me to a Pulmonologist who "would not lie to me". He then said directly, "Mr. Thompson, you have Lung Cancer." Oh No!
