Hi Barbara. Thank you again for your response. My work environment was very difficult. Home life not easy either, me with breast cancer and my husband with prostate cancer and a GIST tumor too. Things have got to get better. So glad to talk to you. Hope you are well. Hugs, Tina

Hi Barbara. Hope everything is ok with you and your family. My Unemployment was denied. The lady I spoke to at unemployment told me it won't change if I appeal because I quit. She also told me employer does not have to pay me my earned vacation time weather I gave 2-was notice or not. The lady at Indiana unemployment office said she called my employer and was told it had nothing to do with my health. Of course they are going to say that, my former co-workers think it is just wrong and awful how they treated me. Guess it is time to move on and forget about it.

TinaLeigh, that's your decision, of course, but the reason we have an 800 number for the ADA information is to allow people like you to get information and file a complaint about your employer's harassment of you related to your health. Harassment is illegal, and they deserve to be in trouble. If they don't admit it, the ADA would take them to court about harassment even if it was just for that. (It's free for you, but I think the employer gets fined.)

Don't forget to use the phrase I gave you saying that the harassment was so severe, you had an anxiety attack and resigned without meaning to.

Employers have to follow Federal law, which therefore would make your Unemployment Claim have to be corrected AFTER it's PROVEN that your employer broke the ADA law.

You can later sue your employer privately through an attorney for money.

You only have so many days to call the ADA, so don't delay calling unless you want to give up, which would be a shame.

Remember to call the ADA first, because that's where you can get information about the laws.

I've had a sore throat since Monday, and have to go to CVS for antibiotics. Have a good Easter!

Sorry you have a sore throat, hope you feel better soon. Happy Easter to you! I am just so tired out and never feel good, I just don't know if I have the energy to fight. Don't want to seem like I am giving up, I have never liked convertation and I let my employer treat me like that for 7-yrs so feel like I deserve it because I took it for so long and i am finally free of that treatment from them.

In today's work force, and the laws on the books,, they couldn't "et you go", or "fire" you, or terminate you,, What they did to get you toleave was to imtimadte you,, I'm so sorry for that. I'm sorry you didn't have someone to talk to before you walked out.
I worked for the school system in my county,, and worked at a cafeteria, in an elementary school.. My daughters didn't want me to work,, during the chemo times,, but I did, as much as I could. We had paid sick time,, I used all mine,, and teachers, and other staff members Donated some of their sick time to me, when I needed it. I was so gratefull for all of them! My personal boss was very supportive! along with all my co-workers.
As others have said,, don't wait too long before you talk to some someone,, and talk, and talk, and talk, till some body listens!! and helps you!!
      Good Luck,, God Bless,,

I feel your pain! I am not being "pushed" out, but I get constant reminders that I have slipped a little every time I have an issue where I made a mistake or didn't do a little task that I might have forgotten. I feel like I have way too much pressure on me. I think you were pushed out. It's not right.

KancerKiller, you also need to get familiar with all the info above! I don't think they would even be allowed to say you have "slipped a little," since ADA says they can't insult you and that cancer is a disability legally. Call EEO and ask questions at the 800 number above. That could qualify as harassment and a hostile environment. You also need to learn about "Accommodations" they are required to make for you, even if it means changing positions.

Since you are still working there, after you learn your rights, ask EEO the best way to let them know they are violating your rights. File a claim with EEO and let them send them a letter!! You also could report them to HR.

Also be sure you know FMLA rules and file papers if needed to cover your absences.
