Hello there - I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. Really hard also not sharing all you know with your family. Just remember: nobody knows what a fighter you are except you. What I mean is this - ignore that statistic about 5 year survival rates. Hogwash. It's based on some statistics and average this and that. Means NOTHING. I can see the resolve in the set of your jaw, you are a fighter. You will get beyond this. We are here for you. Just tell us your worries, fears, concerns. I'm an 8-year breast cancer survivor and sending you lots of love, sympathy and healing today. xoxox

Radiation (External radiation ): In 2005, I had proton beam radiation of the tumor in my right eye. I was fascinated by the technology; the procedure was pretty painless and the side effects were minimal (lost vision in right eye, but that was expected). It's been 7 years and the tumor is still 'dead.'

Oh No (Diagnosed): After my surgery (lumpectomy with 7 lymph nodes removed), the pathology came back as a triple negative. Reading online I found that there is only a 5-year survival rate with this diagnosis. The surgeon removed all the known cancer tumor with a 3 mm clear margin; there was no cancer detected in the 7 nodes; however, I received the triple negative diagnosis yesterday when I went in for the surgical followup. I haven't share this with my family yet. I have radiation and chemo appts setup for now to learn more.
