Hi JoAnn! I’m in TN as well. I have adenocarcinoma of the cervix. Underwent a radical hysterectomy May 2, 2019 and will have to undergo chemotherapy and radiation.

Procedure or Surgery (Radical hysterectomy): I was admitted on May 2, 2019 for a radical hysterectomy. It took approximately 6-7 hours. I did very well and was able to go home after just 2 nights in the hospital. No blood transfusion, no problems in peeing! Thank God! Results revealed good clear margins, but LVI and 65% stromal invasion, my GYN/ONC says this warrants chemo and radiation. I’m being referred to an oncologist Tues 5/28 ❤️

Oh No (Just Diagnosed): I had an abnormal Pap smear in January 2018, underwent endometrial bx and colposcopy, both which came back clear. Repap in September 2018, still abnormal, physician waited 6 months to repap again in February 2018, still abnormal, so underwent a second endometrial bx and colposcopy. It came back positive for adenocarcinoma in my uterus. Was referred to GYN/ONC who determined it was indeed cervical, not uterine. MRI, ultrasound shows cervical cancer only. PET scan shows no metastasis!
