Ask your doc if it's a "lipoma." That's an actual tumor of fat cells (aka "adipocytes"), nearly always benign. So long as your PSA scores are below detectible limits you shouldn't have to worry.

I was wondering the same thing but i just had my surgery last week and was diagnosed in December so it is too soon. If you have had cancer and you are fully cured are you more succeptable to other kinds of cancer tumors in the body? Any body have any input?

Hi all, I haven't been here for a while. It's been 14 months since I had surgery. I went to the doctor yesterday and my psa is still <.1. Man parts still don't work, but I guess that's the trade off. Still have minor leakage problem if I strain. Other than that I guess I am ok.

I'm happy to report that I had my 8 month psa and it is <.01. Only issue still remaining is the man parts not working yet.

Great news ....:) As far as the man parts go...I'm 12 months out ...starting to get some slight feelings back ...its a long road ... I bought a house from a man who is 14 years clear ...it took him over 2 years to get back in the saddle...but according to his wife he's a rockem sockem cowboy again ...
So there is light and hope at the end of the tunnel.. BTW he is now 78...

Great news and small price to pay for living. Wishing you some "hard" therapy. Happy Easter or Passover whichever works for you.

I've felt the same. I was dx in July and surgery in Aug. Supposedly I am cancer free. I feel like I am really not included in the group. I went to a meeting for Walk for Life and after see and hearing the others I feel even less of a survivor. I should be getting my 7 month PSA results today.
