It is more important to make sure you see an endocrinologist once a year to test for antibodies to the cancer. I am not sure exactly how it works but for me they do a blood test that is sent to a lab that does this test. If it comes back positive they start doing scans. I was told be several doctors that thyroid can be called and start growing anywhere. It is different than regular cancer, it is controlled by your thyroid replacement so that your body does not need to call for more of the hormone. But if it is called for, any lymph node could decide to fill the order. My tumor in the second round of cancer was in my chest, but still thyroid cancer. I am not trying to worry you more, just keep in mind that this is much different than what you hear from others with cancer. Our cancer is kept in control by medications. Tracy
