Procedure or Surgery (Sentinel lymph node biopsy): This surgery occurred only 1 week after my diagnosis. It is difficult to say what effect the actual procedure had on me because I was emotionally struggling with the diagnosis and anticipating the start of chemo.

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): Chemo was very difficult for me. My children were 3 and 1 when I began so I relied heavily on my family and friends for help. I AM SO BLESSED to have had so many to help us.

Procedure or Surgery (Double Mastectomy): While I still feel very confident about my choice to have a bi-lateral mastectomy, it is something that impacts my self-esteem on a private level. Part of me feels less than myself but at the same time, part of me feels proud and strong because of my decision. Thankfully reconstruction has helped me to hide that from those that don't know my story.

Celebration (Mastectomy Complete): I remember waking up after my mastectomy and grabbing my husband's hand. I smiled and said "WE DID IT".
