My family really didn't believe the thing about "chemo fog." They honestly thought it was hilarious when I said that's what I had! Returning to a high stress job has been challenging, mainly being tired, forgetting things, but notes, a huge desk calendar keep me on track. I notice that lots of background noise bothers me much more, like in a crowded restaurant, crying kids in stores etc. Guess I'm just not that patient passive person anymore! Look what we have had to endure.....geez give us a break world! Be patient as you can & just get her conversation back to the topic. Take care, Barb

I agree with barbdee. I just don't have the patience that I once had before and I can't stand a lot of background noise in restaurants anymore either. Wonder why it does that to us? I have to keep notes all over my desk at work too or I would be lost sometimes...lol. Anyway we are all still here and we deal with life the best that we can each and every day. Always be thankful that God gives us another day! So go out and enjoy life and your day!!!! God bless.

Chemo brain is very real. I have had trouble with my speech because I can't always think of the right words to say, especially in a one to one conversation. I spoke with a person from our hospital and they actually have speech therapists that work with people who have gone through chemo. I was able to have an evaluation, and then some speech therapy for a couple of sessions and I am so glad that I went through the therapy. It really helped. And insurance does pay for it. Check with your doctor's office and see if there's any local hospitals that offer such therapies. I did have to have a referral, but it was so worth it.
