I finished radiation treatment two weeks ago and had a really bad radiation burn. Per my doctor, I used Aquaphor - lots of it! But now the burn is gone and the area peeled like a bad sunburn. But it looks & feels normal.

One thing that helped me (I think my husband came up with this one) was to lie on my side, no clothing at all, with a fan pointed right at the site. I usually did this following a soak in the tub; I don't think I put anything in the water, the soaking alone was soothing to my skin. But that cool air blowing directly on my skin was a nice temporary relief. It really does stop after a while. Good luck.

The best thing I found was a tube of generic triple antibiotic ointment with pain reliever, cost less than 2 dollars @ the grocery store. I used it way more than the recommended dose but it worked wonders. The only thing about the entire treatment experience that was cheap. My neck pealed and blistered but it's two years later and I don't have much scaring at all, I look like an average 50+ woman. Good luck.
