Celebration (Cancer is shrinking): I had my first scan since original diagnosis. After my 3rd treatment. Scan showed no sign of cancer and lymph nodes were shrunk into normal range. Will continue with the other 3 treatments and Dr has said if he decides on radiation it will just be 1 or 2 treatments. Amazing news for our family!

How are you responding to the RCHOP? Is it working? Are you suggesting stopping RCHOP?
I too had Stage IV Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma in 2010. I was treated solely with RCHOP and fortunately I continue to be cancer free. If RCHOP is working and your oncologist recommends you continue this course of treatment you may want to consider it.

I have had my 3rd r-chop and after 6 they will give me radiation. I wanted to get you opinions so i could ask the dr about it. My lymphoma began the mediastinal and thats where the radiation would be so it is isolated. I'm trying to study about the damage it could cause to my heart because before this i was an avid runner and biker and am only 42. I am by no means stopping my chemo. I have my first scan since beginning treatment in a week so we will know how well it is working then. But they have already explained i will have to have radiation but the closest proton radiation is 5 hours away which isn't a problem is it works better and cause less damage to my heart and or lungs.

I had mediastinal non-hodgkin's lymphoma with a tumor the size of a softball and unable to swallow food. This was 1995 and I had 8 months of CHOP actually lifetime doses and NO radiation. I have been cancer free, I have chemo brain and type II Diabetes but glad to be alive. Thing is I had no radiation and I watched my wife go through breast cancer with 30 days of radiation and it was hard for her to deal with it. Get a second opinion on Rad
