I hear ya! LOL Let me know if you need a good recommendation. My plastic surgeon is the top in his field. He did his fellowship in DIEP reconstructive surgery. He is affiliated with both Chester County Hospital (under Penn Medicine now) and Paoli Hospital. Both excellant. I see him this week and I'll ask about the tatoo person. He tells me the "tweak" is outpatient and will take roughly 2 hours. I hope so because the DIEP took 7 1/2! Tough recovery for me, mostly because of the tummy incision healing. Keep in touch!

I had the latissimus dorsi flap reconstruction back in October. My plastic surgeon was ok, and she did recommend a person for the tattoos, but I saw the work...those babies were red? Way too dark for my liking, and not that I'm gonna go showing these babies...but I just want to be back to ... well, my new normal I guess, which does not include red nipples!!! I can imagine the DIEP is a really difficult recovery... it sounds painful. Yes, please ask him about the nipple procedure. Thanks for all of your helpful comments!

Mine looked very red in the beginning but they faded very quickly as they healed. Now the color is quite natural looking.

Just wanted to tell you, that you and I are at the same stage. I had DIEP reconstruction (left only) at end of Sep.. I have my "tweak" surgery with nipple placement on 4/17. Then, my surgeon told me about a week or two after that I'll do to a 3d certified tatoo artist. Supposedly the one around is awesome, as I've hear from others.. come to PA- Chester county area. I've seen some from those who have had it and they look natural. I think the darkness fades. They are all very happy around here and so funny, but they love to show them. (don't know if I'll ever get to that!)

Check with your ps because before my surgery the nurse had a color wheel and matched the colors so the ps could do the tattoos so they would match the originals. About four months after my main surgery I decided that I liked the way I looked and the only people who were going to see me was my husband and the medical community. I was happy with my direct to implant surgery and didn't want to mess it up with something that might not stay in the same place. Over the years our girls tend to move south and what if mine didn't move at the same time? I am very happy with the way I look now.
