make it 4 for a female 2nd (or is it 3rd) opinion. Sounds like your first doc wasn't into aggressive pain management, which is big issue no matter what procedure you have.

Ok..I can totally understand, the fear. But please DO NOT cancel your surgery! it has nothing to do with the sex of your Dr. but their knowlege and how competent they are! I just completed chemo and radiation a year ago after undergoing a radical vulvectomy. I was diagnosed and was scheduled for surgery a week later withou having met my surgon, I was that far gone! it had spread to my lymph nodes on my left side..I was the equivelent (sp) of stage 4! I guess I can be graphic here so Ill lay it out plainly for you, I had part of both sets of Inner and outer ..lips removed..and honestly? It didnt hurt too bad! the pain of the ulcers I had indured for a few year were far more painful!..if you want to talk more about it Id be happy to speak with you e-mail me at [email redacted]

Yes, we do have a blog, and invite anyone to submit a guest blog post if you would like. Some people actually use the updates section of their own home page here as a blog. After all, a blog is nothing but regular updates on your journey. That can be done on your home page. If a person has a blog they can synch it to their home page here so every time it updates, it will post here.
Let me know if you would like to submit a post for our blog. Click on the "blog" link at the top of the page to see our previous posts.

vbright...Just to share a little on the bright side(it wasn't at the time). I was a week or two into remission and finally able to go back to church and sunday school...yeah! Stopped at the pharmacy to pick up my prescription. I was eating whole grains and drinking tons of water to keep my pooping normal. They had to check on my prescription and were taking their own sweet time..not knowing a ticking time bomb was standing in front of them(dressed very nicely, too, I must say). And then it started...no control...poop flowed! It flowed down my lovely, brown dress slacks..puddled in my nice dress shoes...and onto the floor!..It flowed and flowed and FLOWED!!! The nice, SLOW pharm. asst. said"Do you smell something?" I very sweetly said, "No." I waited on my prescription(no need to run now) with a pleasant smile. I then held my head high and proceeded to the front of the store, scrip in hand, and left. That was 2011 and I have NEVER been back! That was awful in 2011, but today it is quite hilarious.
