After having a 8mm nodule in left lung treated with radiation. I finished on the 26th of September 2014. On the 29th of September 2014. I was diagnosed with a nodule in mirror image in the right lung. I go October 29th for a PET Scan. Has anyone else had a cancer show up that quick and in the exact spot and shape to the opposite lung? The doctors believe it may be a recurrence of Breast cancer. I can't have a Biopsy because I have COPD and Asthma with Pulmonary Fibrosis and on Oxygen. It would be detrimental for me to do it.

The doctors are still trying to decide the next steps. I had a needle biopsy and it was inconclusive. They are thinking maybe to try an open lung biopsy, which Could be my death sentence. I am on oxygen all the time for Asthma, COPD and Pulmonary Fibrosis. The open biopsy when you read about it says NOT to have this with any of these diseases let alone all 3 of them. I am not willing to do that now. I have had Invasive Breast cancer and had a Mastectomy with reconstruction. 6 years ago. I was doing real good until the last visit to my Oncologist he gave me a clean bill of health then had me go get blood work done. Then I got a call 2 days later saying my tumor markers were up just a little but the doc wanted me to have a CT Scan just to be safe. The scan showed a very small spot 8.05 by 7.02 mm's I then had a PET Scan and The Needle Biopsy. I went back to Lung Doc and saw my Oncologist. My Oncologist does not think it is recurrence, but a new cancer in the lung. The Pulmonary Doc, Is wanting the open biopsy to make sure what type it is. I am just wanting to have the radiation. and get it gone now. What do you all think??

since it is very small you have a very good chance of getting it controlled. What stage/or condition are you in right now? What have the doctors told you so far?

So sorry that you got a second primary cancer, but fortunately they caught it early. What have the doctors told you? I would always get a second opinion as well! Good luck and God bless!

I'm reading this and crying. My good friend just found out she has lung cancer today, after battling breast cancer. Please let me know more information when you know about your lung cancer. I am also a breast cancer survivor.
