Thank you ElizaM - and all who have responded. If you are interested in learning more about my beautiful wife you can go to my web blog. www.waynevelora.com

There is a wonderful book I highly recommend - "A Grace Disguised: How the Soul Grows Through Loss" by Jerry Sittser. It can be found on Amazon if interested.

Each person reacts differently. A chemo friend was able to do all 12 treatments and didn't have the tingling until after the 12th, yet mine happened right away and I was taken off of it after the 5th treatment. A nurse recommended L-Glutamine (amino acid) and showed me the following article:
      http://www.dana-farber.org/Health-Library/Benefits-of-Glutamine.aspx

Here is one on the best ways to take it:
      http://www.dana-farber.org/Health-Library/Glutamine-for-Peripheral-Neuropathy.aspx

A B-complex and B-6 is also said to be helpful (which I'm taking now but I may switch to the amino acid). Info on that here:

      Good luck.

Currently I'm receiving Oxi with 5 FU and Avastin - on my 16th treatment and will continue until it is no longer effective. FOLFURI stopped working so we went back to FOLFOX. Since I"m allergic to Oxi I'm receiving it in a desensitization program at Mass General. I have neuropathy in my toes and balls of my feet but honestly, I wouldn't even consider stopping treatment at this point because it is keeping the tumors from growing and I want to keep living! It will be 5 year since diagnosis this November. I figure the longer I stay alive, the better the chance that other treatments will be discovered that will work for me. Right now FOLFOX is my best and only treatment.

I pray for your wife, that no more harm will come to her, and that God heals her completely, sir. Hang in there.I love this community. I am new here, and so far I have read all entries. The same meds have been ordered for me. They are to be given at my first chemo. I pray all goes well. Some are worth a scare, others are uplifting. I want to say this,.I am already on a regiment of B-complex liquids and other vitamins. Taking magnesium, fish oil (Omega-3), and other Natural Herbal remedies. This Cancer has traveled quite a bit since my last CT scan. My liver still has suspicious spots on it and around it, and I had two nodes in my lungs. But hey, I am trusting God through all of this. I cannot, and won't allow this disease to rule my temple. So, I have begun to eat what is good, and natural, but only when I can get it.When I am able to purchase wholesome foods, I try to make it stretch a little further into the next month. Things are tight. But my faith will stand strong. I want to be able to come back to this forum time and time again, being the bearer of great news to share with anyone who wants to hear and be uplifted. I want to live, and I will!
