I have had my colostomy for 6 months now, but never experienced this problem. I did have the urge to 'go', so the doctors checked my CT scan and saw waste still in my stapled off section of colon. They said that I could use a mild enema, but I decided to not complicate the issue and didn't. The urges stopped, and I hope they can remove the 'boulders' when they reconnect my colon after chemo and surgery on liver is through! There is a new product that I have seen called "Butterfly", which is designed to capture bowel leakage. Maybe this may help you? It's a thin pad that fits between the buttocks instead of to your panties. The advertisement says that it's sold at Walmart. Good luck!

Yes, I had mucus discharges from my rectum and the dr. said it is perfectly normal. If you still have your rectum, it is still working even though it is just mucus. Best to you.
