Thanks for sharing, I have never been a smoker and drink very very little so not sure where this is coming from - high stress job (that oddly I don't want to take a leave from) but other than that always been healthy. I will for sure ask about that. Worried about surgery and what will happen on Monday. Thanks again

HI GEORGIA,
YES......i WAS A HEAVY DRINKER AND SMOKER FOR 40 YEARS PRIOR TO MY ORAL CANCER........ONE THING I HIGHLY RERCOMMEND......CHANCES ARE YOU WILL LOSE YOUR SALIVA GLANDS, LIKE ME AND IT'S A NIGHTMARE. THEY HAVE A WAY NOW TO COVER OR PROTECT THE SALIVA GLANDS FROM THE RADIATION....PLEASE ASK YOUR DOCTOR OR ONCOLOGIST ABOUT IT. TRUST ME, YOU DON'T WANT TO LOSE YOUR SALIVA GLANDS......I'VE SUFFERING WITH IT FOR OVER ONE YEAR NOW............LOTS OF LUCK AND KEEP IN TOUCH -

Like everyone else, I have been suffering with dry mouth for two years. All you can do is learn to live with it. I use Bioteen spray all the time not only for the dry mouth but for the horrific taste in my mouth. I have gotten prescriptions from my doctor, but nothing seems to work.
I understand how you feel. Just hang in there. Lois Starr
