Procedure or Surgery (Lumpectomy): Had the surgery and was surprised by how low my discomfort level was.The day after the surgery I felt fine besides being just a little drowsy from the general anesthesia. Only needed one pain killer and even then the pain was not unbearable. In general the whole process was not a horrible experience. I expected to feel worse than I did. I will start radiation treatment next week and it will continue for seven weeks. I was also told of having to take this Tamoxifen pill for the next five years. Is it true that the side effects are horrible; hot flashes and muscle ache?
