If your house was "Sandified", you need to be on the look out for mold intrusion which can cause or excerbate squamous cell. Best of luck to you.

I called the American Cancer Society this morning, at first was given a number to help defer the cost of treatment, however, after I explained to him my situation, he said there was only help after this is confirmed(how much more confirmed can it get without a biopsy??). He then mentioned the Hill Burl program which might help, so I called and left a voicemail which is the procedure then they send you application in the mail. So I will wait and see, I tried a few general surgeons and am going to keep trying to see if I can find one even to just do a FNA in office then have the diagnosis to go back to ACS with. Thank you to the ladies from South Jersey and Florida, we did get SANDIFIED here pretty bad, and our septic system backed up only to be denied by FEMA for insufficient damage. I did not know that mold can exacerbate squamous. This too shall pass....I will hope anyway!! Thank you for reaching out to me everyone.

      Hello Zenzi,
I am also a New Jersey resident in south Jersey! I know that Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune is a cancer center and they have a clinic that takes into consideration your financial and insurance status! Go to Meridian Health on the Internet! They have their hospitals listed their! I went to Memorial Sloan Kettering n NYC! Try calling them! I met people from all over the world there! One of the best! I also ad the same cancer which is now gone! I had surgery July 2012. Any questions feel free to ask as I am also in NJ! Memorial Sloan Kettering also has a site in Basking Ridge NJ, I had radiation done there and my PET and CT scans! Stay in touch touch! Good Luck. JoeTEMT

I am in desperate need of a fine needle biopsy or possibly an exicisional biopsy for hard, unmoveable lumps on right side of my neck. I was diagnosed in december of 2010 with advanced SQUAMOUS CELL METAPLASIA running rampant through my sinus cavities. I have no medical insurance and when I made one of many appointments for the biopsy ordered from the clinic that I now go to, I found out it would cost well over 2000.00 dollars just to get the biopsy. So I have yet to get this done even though the clinic has told me it needs to be done. I called the county where I live since they offer free breast cancer screenings but they said there is no help for my situation. I live in South Jersey. Does anyone know of any possible way for me to get this biopsy with no medical coverage and not having to not pay my mortgage that month? I clean houses and do not make enough money as it is. My husband is disabled and I have three kids. I am afraid the longer this goes untreated and the bigger these get the harder it will be for me to fight. I feel like XXX already, and cry often. I sweat so bad then I am freezing. My weight has plummeted, and my voice has definitely changed. I do not know what to do and feel like I am all alone in this.

Hi Zenzi, I am a 2 time hodgkins and 1 time SCC head and neck cancer survivor, You absolutely need to find someone that will help with that. Don't give up looking, call the county, the social workers at the hospitals and at the state. Click on the Resources link at the top of this page and get the number for the American Cancer Society. Call them and explain your situation. They will start a case for you and start looking for help for you in your area. It takes a little time, so dont wait. That phone number is answered 24/7, you can call today. Also, to to www.cancer.org and inquire there online.

Start there and see what you find. Also, you posted this as a status update on your home page. Only people who are following you will see it here. When you have questions for everyone, click the questions tab at the top of the page, then ask your question. Everyone on the network sees it that way.
Best of luck to you. Keep searching and asking, you will find some help.

Let us know if we can help with anything here on the site.
