As you might have read before, I lost my husband to brain cancer on 11/11/11 and last Tuesday our (my) houseguest collapsed and went on life support. He has no brain activity and will be removed from the ventilator tonight or tomorrow. He was my "back up" for my husband and helped me know that we could get through it. Now I'm losing him and I really feel alone...even in the middle of a crowd. I hope that the new year is kinder to my friends and relatives.
I can't seem to get my house clean and ready for the holidays no matter what I think. I can make wonderful plans and then I just sit and watch another tv show and do needlework. That's comforting and relaxing; however, my house is beginning to crunch on the floor. Any ideas on how you can stick to a plan and not feel so depressed??? I'm ready for all ideas.
    Thanks, zetacat

Zetacat, I would recommend two things.

First, search our Questions section for "Depression". I know several people have asked similar questions. You can do this by clicking on the "Questions" link at the top of this page and then just below the "Questions" form you will see a Search box.

Second, if you still need help. I you post your own question using our "Ask Network" feature. When you do this, we automatically route your question to everyone on the network who might be able to help. Whereas, when you post an "Update" like you did, only the people following you will see it or people who happen to read your Wall.

You can pose questions to the network by clicking on the "Questions" tab at the top of this page and then completing the "Ask Network" form.

      I hope this helps.

Although I have leukemia and it puzzles me; right now I'm facing the funeral of my husband tomorrow. He passed away from brain cancer that was diagnosed in May. He did the operation, chemo and radiation, but all that happens was a decline in his health. He is in a better place with his family and close friends, but I am here without him. It all hasn't hit me yet and I'm waiting. He was my rock and prince charming. Nothing will be the same.
