Hi, I am an oncology nurse who specializes in gyne cancers. MMMT is a cancer of both epithelial and connective tissue. It is highly metastatic. It all depends on what stage you are. Clinical trial information can be found on. Centerwatch website and any university hospital is also a good place to look. Carbo / taxol is standard therapy but as long as your oncologist stays on top of it, you should have all the answers you seek. I'm always here if you need more info. All the best to you, Carm

I was diagnosed with uterine carcinosarcoma after a total abdominal hysterectomy in April 2012. Round 4 of Carbo/Taxol is scheduled for tomorrow. I found a great yahoo support group - women and family members with the same diagnosis. There are many women in the group who have been NED for 5 or more years, which is inspirational after reading a lot about MMMT. If you google "MMMT Yahoo Group" you will find the link. When reading random information about MMMT, as you probably know, the re-occurance rate can be high, but the thing I keep hearing repeatedly is - "I am a statistic of one" - and that is how I'm dealing with this diagnosis. I plan to continue fighting and stick around for a long long time! :)
