    Twitching

Was there any surgery involved? I had terrible twitching in my neck after surgery. Doctor said it was from the nerves growing back and it would stop when they reached where they were trying to grow back to. Sure enough, the twitching stopped. I don't know if this is the same for him or not.

No, no surgery.....he was transported by ambulance tonight back to the hospital .....hoping to get some help and answers? Very SOB, high heart rate, very week and confused. Lungs are full, causing the increased heart rate I'm sure.

II was looking over Bob's issues you have posted about.....and it occurred to me, we were never given a "stage". Early into the first round of chemo, the oncologist answered when I referenced the "stage".... Oh....maybe stage three....stage four. After the meeting with the cancer board, we were told that surgery was not an option....to large of masses/ tumors/lymph nodes. I'm curious, if they are in treatment.....chemo/ radiation....it would seem to me that the cancer would not be spreading....that the chemo would keep it at bay.....now tho, we're afraid that it may have spread to the lungs. This waiting for the next PET scan is killing us....

I am not sure the chemo would keep the cancer at bay in other places in the body. We have to wait till August for our pet scan. I understand the feeling at having to wait. I hope your husbands has not spread.

Thank you.....that's what I thought. Which do you think does a better job for mucus?

      Zzchap,
Well to pull mucus out you need the Mucinex. These two drugs work opposite from each other. Scopolamine will dry up secretions but usually in nasal passages, like excess histamine and if used when there is mucus in the lung, It could thicken it and cause a sludge in the bottom of the lung. Use the Mucinex until you see that the level of quantity has diminished and then switch to scopolomine to keep it a bit less humid. I'm sorry it took so long to reply, had an emergency with a patient and about to go on another, but this is the first chance for a response. Carm RN.

Bob used Mucinex with good results. Had really thick dark brown mucus.. Although we used Robitussin through the peg tube and it does give him some indigestion.

I am so overwhelmed....I've sat here and cried all morning. I just want to crawl in a hole and wake up back to the way things were a yr ago. I have become extremely angry....and feel like no one understands or cares enough to try.

Hang in there, I have had my share of crying throughout this journey with dad . It is hard, I listen to mom and she listens to me when we actually have a few minutes alone so we don't upset dad by talking in front of him. My mom is my best friend and I hope she feels the same about me, neither one of us have any friends really, only people at work who just say something on occasion to be nice but don't appear to really mean it. I feel like no one cares and no one understands and the only reason I do try is because I love my dad and that keeps me moving, I refuse to give up. because I know that if I give up then I will be the one who has to live with the haunting regret for the rest of my life, what ever is going to happen is going to happen because god has plans for it and there is nothing we can do about it. All we can do is wake up each morning and fight and be sure that dad knows we love him and that mom and I are there and will always be there. And that is all that counts.

      Hi,
Has he gotten new meds or increased any like pain, anxiety, seizure or steroid. It could be myoclous or myoclonic ticks. I am attaching information. Look it over and see if it sounds familiar. My personal email is fcarmedic at sbcglobal dot net (spelled out so that it wont be redacted here). If it doesn't let me know and I will try to get an answer for you, Carm RN.
